Lizzie Roberts – collector of various collectibles, chronic seeker of perfection, frequent flyer,
fun-loving pessimist – was born in San Francisco and grew up in Detroit, learning how to swim
in the ghetto and how to run from the suburbs. She still pursues both activities with gusto.

Briefly toying with the idea of a real education, she visited Indiana University {IU} to study
anthropology. A daring escape to Chicago followed, where she studied printmaking at the
School of the Art Institute of Chicago {SAIC} and wrote lengthly short stories about someone
coincidently just like herself. In 1994, after graduating with a completely useless BFA, she could
no longer squelch the urge to wait tables so she moved to Berlin and lived the dream. Reality
followed, and with it her enrollment in the visual communication program at the Universität
der Künste {UdK}. The rediculous title of »Diplom Designerin« was bestowed upon her with
great fanfare in the year 2000.

Since then, Lizzie has worked as both illustrator and graphic designer. She has also exhibited
prints and photography and thoroughly mastered the glamorous job of mother and housewife.
In her spare time, she enjoys writing, nagging, rearranging the furniture and drinking coffee.
Did I mention she’s a cancer?
